Core Member and Philadelphia Liaison Kara here!

Amy will be the co-host and a keynote speaker at the TEDx Phoenixville conference “MindBlender: Welcome to Ideaville.”TEDx - MindBlender

While I’ve worked with Amy for about three years, we’ve never actually met in person. The same goes for New York City Liaison Alex and Boston Liaison Lisa. So, we’ve all decided to get together and do a live ConnectUP! event for our fall rally.

CONNECT-UP LIVE with Amy and the Team!

WHEN: Sunday, September 25, at 2pm EST

ONLINE: live streaming from ConnectedFilm.com’s home page

WHAT: an interactive discussion with Amy and some Core Members of CF.

We’ll discuss personal empowerment, leadership, film production, and uniting the world.

This program is free and open to the public, so if you’re near by (or want to take a day trip), come on down and meet us in person!

Widener University in Chester, PA, has opened their doors to host the event in the Webb Room of the University Center.

The Spring Connect-Up

Tuesday, May 31st, 2011

Saturday (May 28) marked our second World-Wide Connect-Up for The ConnectedFilm Project!  With a bunch of new faces and a sprinkling of returning friends, we had over 200 people attending and 40 actively participating. There were great conversations both in the chat room and through text questions to Amy.  We even had one producer from Helsinki!

Both the winter and spring rallies were a great way for the Core Team to connect with you - our friends, our supporters, our producers – on a more personal level.  The rally was LIVE on Vokle, an awesome website that allows Amy lead the discussion but invited guest participation by video, text, and chat! Super cool.

Live Sing-a-Long

We are Connected!

Here’s what happened…

  • We introduced the Core Members and invited your help… there are so many ways to get involved.
  • We shared some Exciting News!
  • Amy has been invited to do a TED Talk in Phoenixville (more on that soon)!
  • We took questions and suggestions from the audience, which gave us great ideas for the future of The Project…
  • We even had a world-wide sing-a-long (possibly the coolest sing-a-long ever)!

We are Connected!

Because we love seeing your bright smiling faces, we’ve decided to hold a rally once a season.

The next rally will be in September… but here’s some amazing news… [[drumroll]] we’re doing that one IN-PERSON in Philadelphia! Amy will be traveling from the West Coast to meet up with Philadelphia-based Core Member Kara (that’s me!) and Boston-based Core Member Lisa (not me, but she’s super cool too!).  We’ll keep you posted as plans progress.

Atlanta Connect-Up & Workshop with Amy

Thursday, October 7th, 2010

Greetings Wonderful Beings!

My oh my, what a couple of months it has been! We have finally wrapped up  the Connect-Up Event @ Crü Urban Lounge and the “Believe it Into Being” Workshop at PushPush Theater, both which took place here in the heart of Atlanta, GA! For four days, Amy connected with the natives of Atlanta & got a taste of true Southern hospitality. :)

Each day signified the importance of awareness of the ConnectedFilm Project. With amazing volunteers, contributers, and performances in unique venues, we were able to connect with a plethora of incredible beings. Take a look!

Amy had the opportunity to collaborate with my creative home, PushPush Theater, an artistically inclined workspace known for its diversity and desire to create original work in the 21st century. Amy’s workshop at PushPush entailed an in-depth presentation of her purpose and process of creating the Connected film, as well as her journey as an artist in this day and age. In an intimate environment, Amy connected with artists on a personal level, and also had the opportunity to meet one of her students in person for the first time!

With the partnership of CrU Urban Lounge, we were able to “Connect-Up” with Atlanta natives for a night to remember! The event embraced games, food, drinks, dancing, and memorable performances by Heaven, an internationally acclaimed beatboxer, and our lovely Amy Walker. With Amy’s beautiful voice and Heaven’s astonishing talents on the mic, the theme song, “We are Connected”, came to life in front of everyone present. Amy’s intriguing solo performances, each of which expressed personal ways of connecting as different characters with accents, served as a source of inspiration for anyone to fuel their own SoulFire. :)

The whole weekend left us with new memories, new friends, and the feeling of being truly connected to my hometown. Our global community now has over 50 new producers!

To all of our beautiful new friends…thank you… from the bottom of my heart. Thanks to the wonderful Core Team members, who helped in every way possible.

Thank you AtlantaWE ARE CONNECTED!

Love & Vibes Galore,

~Jasmine

Connect to Amy in Atlanta!

Friday, September 3rd, 2010
a letter from Co-Founder Amy Walker

…The earth to be spann’d, connected by network,
The races, neighbors, to marry and be given in marriage,
The oceans to be cross’d, the distant brought near,
The lands to be welded together.

~from Passage to India, by Walt Whitman (1819-1892)

And so we span the earth, connecting by network. Welding and melding, seeking similarities, proclaiming differences.  As true in the 1800s as it is today.
I’m glad to connect to You, among the stew.

And if you’re in Atlanta, Georgia, I’ll be coming your way in 2 weeks!

Hear what worked, what the challenges were, and get 21st Century tips
for how to galvanize your own career. Understand
your own possibilities with increased clarity, utilizing the transparency of Amy’s journey, an in-depth Q & A, and take-away worksheet to help forge your own path.

Connecting Up in San Francisco, the "City by the Bay"

Hello All!

Oh, what a trip! I just got back from San Francisco not too long ago and I miss it already. I must say that I have experienced wonderful things during my stay with Sharon and Istvan! From the delayed two-day travel by plane into the city, until the night I left… I was able to connect with so many intriguing and inspiring people! Coffee connoisseurs, bookstore owners, doughnut makers, florists, and a plethora of eclectic artists … San Francisco is indeed a city full of kindred spirits.

I finally had the opportunity to physically work with some of the team members and meet and work with our lovely Amy. It has been a memorable trip and San Francisco natives are warm and welcoming individuals that know what connecting is all about. Café Gratitude was so generous to partner with us and do the event …thanks Audrey and Tony for connecting us to your city! The event was a definite success and we plan to stay in touch and work with Café Gratitude in the future. :-) Check them out! www.cafegratitude.com.

Thank you, dear Sharon, Istvan, Maggie, Marci, and lovely Amy.  I am truly grateful to connect with you all personally during my stay. My trip’s experiences are proof that we have the power to unite people through our project…and I plan to continue doing so!

Lots of Love & Good Vibes,

Jasmine Singh

Please join us and make the ConnectedFilm Project your project… :-) Email me at TravelLiaison@ConnectedFilm.com

Amy Walker’s “ConnectUp” at the Cafe Gratitude restaurant in SF

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

Hello!  San Francisco Bay Area Liaison Sharon Beck here.  Istvan and I have had a wonderful time hosting Dia, Tom and Amy Walker, plus our Travel & Translations Liaison, Jasmine Singh this past weekend.  And we all had such a wonderful time with the folks at Cafe Gratitude in San Francisco.

But I’m getting ahead of myself.  Jasmine arrived last Wednesday and we went straight to Cafe Gratitude to talk to them about hosting a dramatic reading of the script by Amy.  As we waited for the manager to come speak to us, we had an opportunity to talk to some of the people eating at this unique “Vegan” restaurant.  They were wonderfully friendly people to Connect with.

So Saturday morning, a group of Bay Area volunteers, myself, my husband Istvan Sonkoly, Jasmine, Maggie Schrieber and Marci Laughlin accompanied Amy to help launch Jasmine’s idea of a “ConnectUp” at this great cafe.

But instead of telling you about it, click on the arrow below and let me show you.

“We’re All in the Boat”

Friday, March 5th, 2010

a letter from Co-Founder Amy Walker:

We’re all in the boat
Drifting on the sea
Trying to stay afloat
water as far as the eye can see

So reach into your heart
find a hopeful word
find a healing gesture
and send it off like a bird

Then keep your eyes on the horizon
One day she’ll return
To lead this fragile vessel
safely home

~Chorus from “We’re All in the Boat”, by Tom Walker

It thrills my aching heart to see how the world is uniting to bring aid to Haiti and  Chile.  But aside from money, how can I, one person, help a country far away? and warring peoples and homeless neighbors in what can feel like a big black hole of need?

Well, I am an artist.  I might not be the best politician, or a builder of new houses, but inspiration pours through me to manifest art and the unique life I create.  It manifests in the loving way I behold a stranger; in the family-oriented film we’re creating together; and most of all, in the ways I nourish my own spirit, that I may have the abundance to overflow upon our beautiful world.

I believe that the most effective way for each of us to aid our planet and its people is found in the secret whisperings of our hearts.  That, even when there does not appear to be a direct connection from one to the other, everything we do to bring love into the world Does somehow uplift our global community.

How does your soulfire burn?
That’s what ConnectedFilm is about, and YOU are an essential part of it.  When the film is completed with your help, we’ll be making a web platform for you to share your SoulFire projects with the world.

Vibes for your SoulFire,
