Happy Holidays, Producers!

From Liaison Maggie Schreiber:

I just had a vision of sitting in a theater watching the opening scene of Connected and feeling a sense of excitement and accomplishment of being a part of something so big.

Your dream is now part of my dream because of my contribution. I LOVE that!!!

Since we’re shooting next August, we could be watching Connected around this time next year… VIBES!

* Your Input: As I revise the script, I’d love to hear your thoughts about your experience of technology use at family and holiday gatherings.

* Core Team Open to All: The Core Team (collaborative force behind the project) is now holding open meetings! You can join us if you want to have Fun, connect the world, and gain invaluable experience. In November, we welcomed Fred Radford , who specializes in Visionary Product Management; you could be next! Location Scouting

Monday, April 4th, 2011

Greetings, All!

Here’s the latest on my Location Scouting trip with fellow screenwriter and CF Member, Suzanne Kellman.  Most of the film is set in the family home -the Russel House, as we call it, so it’s essential that we get it right.

This first trip we were perusing exteriors for the look of The Russel House.  We also looked at The Anchorage Inn for the bedrooms in the film, which we might need to shoot separately…

I’ve contacted the people at Jenne Farm and they’re keen to find a time for us to go back and look at it more thoroughly for interiors.  YAY!

The Anchorage Inn is lovely as well and might be great to help put people up during the shoot.  The bedrooms aren’t quite right for the Russel House, particularly as it’s right in town, so locking down the audio would be a challenge.

Overall, we’re THRILLED by the vibe of Coupeville.  Even though the film is set outside of Philadelphia, the feel of it is very much in harmony with this area.  And the look is definitely analogous.

Vibes to you!

Amy

Connect creepily!

Wednesday, October 27th, 2010

Hello, fellow Connect-ees!

Well, I am the newbie of the core team – but that’s not all, dear friends! I am also the baby as well, just sixteen from the UK! But I shall endeavour to spread the word and my passion for Connected and hopefully inspire others to do the same!

This week I have excitedly been wondering around shops in search for a pumpkin, with a drawing of the connected logo flying about in my hands. Undoubtedly, some might have thought me crazy, but that’s the beauty of it!
I have carved many a pumpkin in my time, but I am exceedingly proud of this beautiful creation. So what could I do, but show other Connect-ees how to do the same!

Here is my video tutorial on creating this masterpiece, in time for Halloween – so you can show off your masterpiece to all those little trick-or-treaters. I would love to see your creative pumpkins, so send me a picture at Beth@connectedfilm.com and show me how you connect too!

We are connected!

Love and vibes,

Beth

Connect to Amy in Atlanta!

Friday, September 3rd, 2010
a letter from Co-Founder Amy Walker

…The earth to be spann’d, connected by network,
The races, neighbors, to marry and be given in marriage,
The oceans to be cross’d, the distant brought near,
The lands to be welded together.

~from Passage to India, by Walt Whitman (1819-1892)

And so we span the earth, connecting by network. Welding and melding, seeking similarities, proclaiming differences.  As true in the 1800s as it is today.
I’m glad to connect to You, among the stew.

And if you’re in Atlanta, Georgia, I’ll be coming your way in 2 weeks!

Amy Walker’s “ConnectUp” at the Cafe Gratitude restaurant in SF

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

Hello!  San Francisco Bay Area Liaison Sharon Beck here.  Istvan and I have had a wonderful time hosting Dia, Tom and Amy Walker, plus our Travel & Translations Liaison, Jasmine Singh this past weekend.  And we all had such a wonderful time with the folks at Cafe Gratitude in San Francisco.

But I’m getting ahead of myself.  Jasmine arrived last Wednesday and we went straight to Cafe Gratitude to talk to them about hosting a dramatic reading of the script by Amy.  As we waited for the manager to come speak to us, we had an opportunity to talk to some of the people eating at this unique “Vegan” restaurant.  They were wonderfully friendly people to Connect with.

So Saturday morning, a group of Bay Area volunteers, myself, my husband Istvan Sonkoly, Jasmine, Maggie Schrieber and Marci Laughlin accompanied Amy to help launch Jasmine’s idea of a “ConnectUp” at this great cafe.

But instead of telling you about it, click on the arrow below and let me show you.
