Loglines:
The Russels are always in contact… but it’s been years since they’ve actually looked at each other. When Baba’s birthday brings them all under one roof, sparks fly, secrets re-surface, and a diverse family learns the true meaning of connection.
In a world of instant communication, how often do we truly Connect?
Synopsis from the Green Light Study:
Pam is in a frantic hurry, texting and emailing as she prepares a large party for her mother’s 80th birthday.
Obsessing on the fine details, she keeps the party of friends and well-wishers on track. Then the private family dinner begins…
There is much anticipation as Pam’s sister Susan is bringing her new girl friend… Everyone is excited, but nervous about the upcoming Skype call with Pam’s daughter Ana, who recently shocked the family by joining the Navy and shipping off to Afghanistan… Pam angers her “anti-technology” brother, Douglas,
by buying his daughter a cell phone…
As the evening unfolds, polite conversation is abandoned and years of sibling rivalry and secret disapproval are given full voice.
Soon the entire family is wrapped up in arguments about the inadequacies of each other’s personal lives.
Just as tensions reach the boiling point, a mysterious stranger arrives who shakes their fragmented views into a new perspective.
The family then begins the process of reconnecting to their spouses, children and siblings. Each character is flawed but genuine in their mutual bonds of love.
Connected shows the conflict and harmony that come about from a diverse group of people expressing love in their own personal ways.
